Hi~

I see a lot of children being diagnosed quickly. Often times families resort to meds. Meds are not always needed. I have seen families control it by diets as well as seeing a chiropractor. There are other alternatives out there. Meds are not a quick fix. Examples: if you take the red dye out of your diet (it seems to be in everything these days).

If you are serious about finding someone. You can contact your local hospital. They will be able to put you in contact with someone. Just ask. They usually have a list of doctors who can help you. They will talk to you. Before most doctors put you on meds, they will ask you random questions and about your past as well as your family history and when the symptoms came on. IT is not always ADD/ADHD. It can be other things in your life.

Good Luck!

Don't be so quick to judge yourself. It is real easy to mis-diagnose yourself. To find a good dr. you could ask for a referal from your regular dr., or call yopur local hospital and/or mental health association and ask for a referal. If you don't have insurance, free counceling is always available.

Your statement 'I would like to be diagnosed for ADD' almost sounds like you want to have something wrong with you? Good luck!

I was told that if you think you have a problem, you don't. Change your diet first-stay away from junk, cut back on sugar and caffeine, eat more veggies and protein-before you think you have ADD.

I had a friend who told me that their son had ADD. We eat healthy in our home and the week we had him while they were on vacation, he had no problems. As soon as his mom and dad walked in the door, he became a monster. It wasn't a disease, it was his parents!!!
