If our government will not do anything about it....what can we as citizens do?

We can continue to pass laws on the local level that penalize employers and landlords who hire or allow illegals to rent from them. To the person who made the comment about the 11 million jobs Americans won't do, grow up we won't do those jobs for the crap wages that are being offered. When was the last time you had to live on less than $10.00p/h? I am a certified nurse's aide and I am lucky to see $7.00p/h, I have four years experience and can't pay my rent. I have worked in fast food, gas stations, truck stops, and some retail department stores. Until employers quit hiring illegals over citizens there will continue to be problems.

I think that the only people that can resolve the immigration issue are our government leaders and the people of Mexico themselves. If Mexicans stand up and fight against the corrupt government and the suppression of the labor class (which is the majority in the country) then they would have no need to want to be here. I feel like obviously they want the easy way out by pigging backing off of America and not getting their own house in order; but I guess you can say that about a lot of nations in this world but they are the majority over here illegally because they are so close to our boarders. You don't find a bunch of illegal Canadians here do yah???? No you don’t. Also all the Mexican Americans and those for illegal immigrants can boo who all day long, but you know what if we shared the boarder with Africa there would be a 20 feet electrified fence already in place with towers along the boarder with watchmen, and maybe even a moat. I just mentioned that to give another take on this illegal immigration issue, our country is so biased.

There are some good indications that America is starting to do what is needed to remove the scaflaws from Mexico and clean the siteation up. Time will tell.
It' is not hard given the passage of time to remove these illegalls. Just start picking them up and IDing them and out they go. Tighten the border. Fine the employers or put a few in jail. Tust me, the problems will stop if this is done. It will take time.
We do need a certain number of pickers, ditch diggers and so on and we can allow those to stay but they must be here legally.
What we need to stop is illegals and their families from coming here. IF Mothers come with children, it's a problem. Fathers can work, single women can work, mothers and the kids and grandparents need to stay home unless they come here to work.
This will end the problems in our schools. It will end the crime, the sucking of public resources by mothers and children and 0lder individuals that produce nothing but hardship for America.
We can, should and I believe will make these changes shortly and as time goes by. The illegals time has come and gone, if I read my signals right.
I hope so.

We can keep telling those in Washington what we want done, and must never give up. 1. border control must come first. 2. enforce all immigration laws. 3. fine those that hire illegal immigrants. 4. fine those that rent to illegal immigrants. 5. deport all illegal immigrants here in our country. Take note that 3 and 4 are what some cities are doing now, but first they must beat the A C L U, in court.

How about a compromise deal?

How about the Americans vacate the 1/2 of Mexico they stole, and in return, the illegal Mexicans will vacate the rest of America.

voice your discontent to your representatives, let the owners of businesses that you use know that you don't appreciate their staff /worker speaking Spanish amongst themselves in front of their customers. Demand the services that you used to get(with the same price you paid) from businesses that only hire cheap illegal labor now. Write to big companies and tell them that they need to have all languages on their packaging(like IKEA).
Let your local law enforcement authority know that you don't want to have groups of illegal/unfamiliar hispanic males who don't speak English hanging out at street corners in your town.....
I wish more American citizens are aware of how badly the illegals are damaging their society and economy

Take away the desire to immigrate to the US. The Mexican government should make Mexico a nice place to live. Mexicans would not leave Mexico if they were happy living there.

Why is it that you want them out? This is a country of immigrants, founded by immigrants and filled with immigrants. My great-grandfather came her from Hungary in the 1920's. If people had wanted to kick immigrants out then I wouldn't be here. So though I am American I am decended from immigrants. Why did my white looking great grandfather have more right to be here than immigrants do now?

I want them here. They are good workers, friendly people, and genuinely want a better life for their family. Problem is, they forgot to sign in at the door.

If illegals pay back taxes I have no problem.
