I'm a college student and it's not practical for me to give up alcohol completely. Does anyone have any diet tips that don't require a complete abandonment of alcohol?

is that waht's causing your overweight? if you have alcochol pegged as your main cause of weight gain , then you ought to examine this. but maybe even so you coudl just reduce your alcohol intake and not give it up completely.
but of course what is more practical is lots of good exercise such as running. trust me, if you run 3 miles per day , you can have those 2 margaritas from pedros and lose a few pounds also. Contrary to popular belief, walking does not burn sufficient calories for weight loss.
Also again about the alcohol - its interesting that you say that college students can not in practicality give up alcohol. that's interesting because i'm a college student and I have decided to do just that ;).
good luck

Well - since you're in college, and food and booze are both going to add weight - you pretty much need to exercise more to burn off calories.

Again, since its college - lots of vigorous sex would be the logical suggestion, but walking instead of using public transport or a car would be a good suggestion... take up running or jogging... find a friend who's willing to hang at a gym or some such with you to get some exercise.

I doubt you're likely to give up on the beer and pizza lifestyle inherent to college... so changing your diet isn't all that likely.

But as a college student, I'm sure you know the whole vegetables first, some carbs, proteins, etc... government has a web site on it...

Good luck,

YOU dear girl are treading on very dangerous ground. If you don't eat and you do drink guess what, alcohol is absorbed in your system and you need more and more of it and then your addicted if your not already. What would be so impractical not to drink? Would that mean your not following the rest of the sheep?Would that mean you "have a mind of your own"? I know you won't like this answer because it's not what your looking for but OH well, you asked!

realize that is your decision to drink. You can always say no. And since when is not practical to give up alcohol? if your friends refuse to accept you as a non-drinker maybe you should reconsider your friends

There are some alcohols that are really low in carbs and calories...try rum and diet soda.

How about try drinking red or white wine and between each glass of wine drinking a glass of water?
Works for me at least :)

beer is a big culprit of weight gain, give up that one, wine is an okay choice. If you like cocktails try bacardi and diet coke. Even a mixer of real fruit juice wouldn't be bad. Moderation is key

Avoid beer and sugar in your drinks. Actually avoid anything sweet unless it's with artificial sweetner. No greasy food. Or just drink til you puke.
