We are having Ham for Christmas. My inlaws are bringing the Ham. But we are suppose to have all the sides ready. I have a two year old and 10 month old. Anyone know of any good quick sides? Or even things I could put together the night before? THANKS

A trip to the grocery would work. Buy rolls you do not have to brown, just heat them up. Get real mashed potaoes already cooked, canned gravy, cranberries from a can, and some california vegetables from the frozen food section with cheese sauce from a jar[or make that the one home made thing, cheese sauce isn't difficult, make a roue, add milk and lots of cheese]. Or buy fresh carrots, and steam them. There is sweet potato casserole in the frozen food section, but hurry, they will sell out soon.. Make a jello salad, grated carrots and crushed pineapple in lemon jello, use the juice of the pineapple for part of the cold liquiid, or do rasberry jello with fruit cocktail, marchmallows optional. Or visit the deli section for ambrosia, or jello fluff, or whatever else looks good. My friend made a orange jello with manderine oranges, and used orange juice concentrate for the cold liquid, maybe you could find the amounts online.
A green salad from a bag, buy some tomatoes and whatever you want to go in it, or buy one of those salad kits, with the mix in it, caesar is good, it even has the croutons.
Are you doing the drinks, too? Iced tea from a gallon jug would be easy.
You did not mention dessert, but the grocery or the bakery would have a carrot cake, and pumpkin pie. And pumpkin pie is easy to make, if you want homemade, sneak and use a pet-ritz pie shell, nobody will know. Mince pie is easy too, use the roll up pie crusts out of the refrig section, you get two crusts for top and bottom, jar of mince, just read the jar to know how much to buy.
Good luck, hope someone came up with an idea that will help.

Mashed Potatoes and ready gravy
Corn
Mashed sweet potatoes
apple sauce
green bean salad
a very hardy and healthy salad, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, artichoke hearts, beets,
olives, and hard boiled eggs cut into thin layers, and heart of palms(found in the Spanish section) It's an awesome salad , easy to make and makes a great appearance, use oil and vinegar as dressing or your favorite dressing.
All of these can be made the day before just don't put the dressing on the salads until ready to serve.
Since you are busy with the little ones, buy a couple of pies and if you want to add mac and cheese, Thar's the only thing you'll have to prepare that day. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and don't stress with fancy foods. You'll do great. Good Luck.

Scalloped or AuGratin potatoes go great with ham, also macaroni and cheese. Cornbread, or dinner rolls and maybe a jello salad, or how about spiced apples with cinammon and nutmeg. These all taste good with ham, and these could all be prepared the night before.

I know everyone keeps saying green bean caserole, but it is quick and easy, thats one of the sides I'm bringing to my family's chirstmas dinner. I live 45 mins away, so I needed to choose sides that were easy to prepare the night before and were easy to travel with and re-heat.
I'm also bringing a turnip and carrot caserole with instant stuffing on top.
I've found that Betty Crocker.com is awesome for finding delicious but easy recipes.

Mashed potatoes and stuffing are really easy to make from scratch. I usually make them a little bit wet/runny, because they tend to become a little stiffer when you re-heat it. You can put them into microwavable containers and re-heat just before the in-laws arrive.

Any sort of steamed veggies are easy enough to make the morning of. Also, consider ordering a dish of pasta from the local caterer. No one will know the difference.

I'd buy the mashed potatoes that are already made, gravy in a jar, brown'n'serve rolls and make a salad or green bean casserole. You could have green and black olives, sweet and dill pickles and mixed nuts for appetizers.
