My mom thinks that I'm anorexic because I became "vegi" and I was worried about my weight so I lost some, and now I can't stop losing it. Now Im a health freak and when I wanna do active stuff, my mom gets mad at me and won't let me. I know I'm not anorexic, because
1. Dont think Im fat
2. I dont like count my calories and stuff
3. I eat alot (and sometimes stuff my self!)

P.S. I have thyroid promblems and my friends mom suggested that that could be it.

I would get your thyroid levels checked, since you could have hyperthyroid, which I used to have and lost a lot of weight as a result. It just takes a simple blood test to find out if that's what is causing the weight loss.
Other than that, if you are taking in too few calories, you will of course continue to lose weight. You may want to consider consulting a dietician or nutritionist to help find out what types of meals and snacks would work well with your vegan lifestyle and would help make sure you are getting enough calories.
Best of luck with everything

If you were turning to cutting and not eating in the first place, that means there's some sort of underlying problem, and you know it. That's what parents are there for. Even when kids don't think parents know what they're up to, they usually have a pretty good idea. Just accept the fact that your mom has found out, and be glad. She wants to help you, to help you get back to being healthy again and to coping with the stresses of life in a healthy way. It sounds like you need to see a doctor and a counselor, in order to accomplish these things. But it all starts with someone, anyone, but preferably a parent, getting involved. It may be embarrassing, especially because you thought you were concealing it well, but just be thankful that you're only 13 and are already on the road to getting help. My son has a friend who is 19 and is struggling to stay in college due to severe anorexia and other problems that have plagued her for years. The longer you wait to get help, the worse the problem will become and the harder it will be to treat it. Good luck, get well, and I hope this helps.

First concerning your mom, as a mom myself, I can understand. While, I suspect you are not anorexic, it's something moms have been told to worry about. So a diet change probably freaks her out.

I think if you made a couple appointments with a nutritionist and go with your mom, it will reassure her that indeed you are eating healthy.

Most nutritionist are pro-vegi. They can also make sure you are getting enough protein in your vegi diet to stay healthy. A lack of protein might be causing muscle wasting and weight loss, after all. (eat more tofu, beans, and nuts.)

Just make sure you go to an American Dietetics Association certified nutritionist. ADA certified means they had to go through training and aren't just quacks making things up. (In my town there are many non-ADA quacks out there, so please check.)

Concerning the weight loss. Please get your thyroid levels checked. If you are on medication, you may need to adjust it if you are losing weight. Call your doctor.

well if you are even considering the topic, go to a dr and he will be able to tell you whats going on. to be classified as anorexic, you must be 85% below your normal body weight and must have missed your period for at least 3 months. your mom might think you have a subtype of bulemia nervosa, in which you compensate for your eating with excessive exercise. go to a dr or nutrionist, if only to make sure you are really being healthy

Sweetheart just be honest with yourself. Anorexia is a chronic disease brought on by a persons actions, it has nothing to do with what you think. See I would worry with no. 3, what are you doing when you stuff yourself? Eating raw vegtables , fruit juices, and vitamins would be better but don't think we on "answers" know more than your Mother or Dr. Take care of yourself.

As long as you're not throwing up your food, you are just an active person. Keep it up.

just try to always eat in front of her so she doesn't worry. you know, i hope you're eating enough protein, like peanut butter and mixed nuts.
