What do they mean by infertile and fertile eggs? I mean how can a bird lay egg if it's not fertilized. Don't 2 birds have to mete in oredr to lay an egg? Does this mean that a female will lay egg first and then the male would have to come and fertilize them? Should I separate the eggs once the female lays them for the male to fertilize them? I am really confused..help me out guys.

The same way that human females do.

Just like chickens, any female bird can lay an infertile egg. The egg forms inside the hen, and if it's not fertilized by the male during formation, it is laid infertile. If a male mates with the hen during this formation time, he can fertilize the egg before the shell is hardened, and then the hen lays the egg. Shortly after laying her eggs, the hen will incubate them, and the embryos of chicks will begin to form from the fertilized cell. Since eggs are generally formed and laid every other day, the male must fertilize each egg individually, which is why there is a period of several days where mating occurs.
Once the eggs are laid, DO NOT REMOVE THEM.

Fertilized eggs are eggs with an embryo in them. This happens only uh, if the hen has "been in the arms" of a rooster.
If they are not, chickens will "periodically" contnue to lay out unfertilized eggs, uh, much like humans do, if you get my drift.

Also, i am not 100% sure, but I think egg farmers also use certain enviromental factors (lighting) to make hens lay eggs more frequently.

your body 'lays' eggs once a month whether they're fertilized or not too. It's the same basic thing. Their reproductive tract just keeps working, whether there's insemmination or not. The eggs are fertilized the same way human eggs are, through intercourse. The egg can't be fertilized afterward.

Best of luck!

First of all its a bird, they are not human, female birds do not need a mate to lay an egg. Like chickens, they don't need a mate to lay an egg. It's just natural, thats why we have eggs for breakfast..
on the other hand when it comes to humans, you better talk to your mother..........

most birds reproduce by external fertilization. that means the male gives the sperm after the female lay out the eggs. actually, all females produce a certain amount of ovum (egg) in a certain period of time, either there's fertilization or not.
commercial eggs sold in stores are unfertilized, because the male never fertilize them. however, if you want the eggs to be fertilized, just leave it be, and don't forget to have a rooster nearby.

The egg is passed wether it is fertilized or not, sperm impregnating the egg before the shell is formed.

Listen to this. I am not trying to gross anyone out, but you can think of an unfertilized egg as a womans menstruation.

Are you as dumb as you sound, maybe you should ask your parents about the birds and the bees.
