I've gained some weight over the past year. (I was more active then) I'm 18, full time college student and I have no time to work out but I would really like to lose some weight by this summer. Is there any way to achive this?

I was actually able to loose weight in college because I did so much walking. If you attend a school with a large campus, walk as much as you can. Skip the buses and park in a far parking lot, and walk quickly to all of your classes. For a couple of semesters, I had back to back classes at lunch time, so I didn't have time to stop for lunch, but packed a nutrition bar and a piece of fruit and ate it while I walked. Choose nutrition bars carefully, because some are just disguised candy bars.

Stay away from alcohol, because beers, wines & mixers are packed with hidden calories, and zap your energy to exercise.

College years for me were very flexible, so you should really try to carve out time in your day to hit the gym, especially if you're paying student service fees for a recreation center. Lots of colleges have the best gyms and rec centers you'll ever see at a great price that you are probably required to pay. If you can, sign up for a kineseology (PE) class in the spring. Take a class that will really challenge you to get in better shape and require you to work out, not something like bowling.

You might also try mixing Metamucil into water. It helps me to not get hungry so quickly, and the fiber is good for you.

The best way to lose some weight is to walk , and walk alot . I have lost about 40 pounds in the last 6 months just by walking . It hurt at first , leg cramps and such . but the last time i had to walk a pretty far distance i had no cramps or any discomfort at all .I say this because if you are doing alot of studying , you need to eat right to keep your brain in the right frame to think and dieting can break down your thinking power ! All that studying is probably what is putting on the weight (munching while studying ) try munching on veggies and fresh fruit . Walking will do it faster and safer . Good luck and pass all those tests!!!!

Take your books to the gym and read while you pedal. Don't eat like all the other college students.
