Well this isnt so much funny as it is just plain SAD! I had been talking to a guy online who lived about 20 miles from me. We exchanged photos and chatted on Y messenger for about 2 maybe 3 months before I agreed to meet him at Tia's {a tex-mex resturant}. We exchanged photos and he even saw me on webcam proof that I was who was in the photo. But APPARENTLY his photo was shall we say OLD! When I arrived I told the lady who I was there to meet with and she took me to a table with this rather L-A-R-G-E man sitting at it. He smiled and said my name and I thought "jesus christ". Now I normally dont judge people by their physical appearance but this was a total shock had he let me know in advance he was a large guy I still would have gone and I wouldnt have been so taken back. Through out dinner there was NO conversation other then him trying to make small talk. I did at some point ask him if he had asthma. I guess he thought I was making small talk as I chugged drink after drink in order to tollerate being able to hear him breath! I tried to do the thing all women do when they are on a date they cant deal with, by that I mean I went to the bathroom to phone my best friend Jenny to tell her to call me on my work pager so I could have an excuse to get out of the date. But she wasnt home and she was not answering her cell phone I was stuck. After dinner he wanted to go to a local bar for a few drinks and insisted on driving. WHY OH WHY do big guys feel the need to squeeze their bodies into tiny cars. I mean good lord he was about 5-6 and well over 200 pounds in a PT CRUISER. He wouldnt turn on the radio and all I could hear was him breathing, and breathing I thought I was on a prank call! I think I went for the drink so not to be rude but I guess that gave him the idea he could attempt to touch me which sorta caused problems because I was not having it. I dont care who you are if I can hear you breathing and its not because you are having an asthma attack telling me how cute and peitie I am is not going to give you permission to touch me. An hour later he took me back to my car and asked did I want to join him at his hotel..Umm yeah he rented a hotel room and he lived 20 miles away guess he thought he'd be getting lucky. I told him no thank you told him it was nice meeting him and went to shake his hand but he reached in and hugged me, my arms couldnt get around him and I promise you I am not fibbing. I will say this for him though, he did smell nice but beyond that I swore off blind internet dates for life!!!

He was nice through out the date the only thing that upset me was he compaired his job which I found out while on the date with him he was a corrections officer at the local county jail to the job my mother did as a police officer that took her life. How sitting at a desk in a room surrounded by plexi-glass looking at inmates locked in their cells in a county jail can be compaired to being a police officer that goes out on calls that no one knows how they will end can compaire I do not know. I do know that my mother lost her life doing her job, and odds are he just sat there eating doing his. Thanks alot big boy have a great life

Well, it ain't a funny story... My first date was a blind date, I went to visit some family at the US (i am from south america) and my cousin was so glad to see me again, she invited me to meet her boyfriend, and maybe go to the movies, and suddenly I had a date with a friend of his, nor me nor my cousin knew him.
Ok well 3 days later, I met him, and wow, he is just perfect, we got along so good, and so fast, he gave me my first kiss (and no I'm not a little girl, i'm 17 and that happened just 4 months ago)
we dated for 2 months until I HAD TO COME BACKHOME. i still cry at nights, i miss him so bad, we are just perfect for each other and next year i am going to go again to the US and stay there (studying) I just hope he hasn't moved on by then, I just LOVE HIM, hey by the way (we didn't have sex) but i know he felt the same conection i felt with him...

Our love started in the Internet site,---- mixedspark dot com
When asked about our site, a friend who had tried it gave Matt good feedback. Still, he sure hadn’t met “the one” anywhere else - who was to say our site was the place to find her? “I wasn’t that confident and didn’t expect too much,” Matt confesses now. But within two weeks, he had his eye on someone special.

“I saw her and thought she looked beautiful,” he says. “When I read her profile, I wanted to know more.” Nadiya had never tried online dating before and didn’t know what to expect. But she’d only been a member of our site for three weeks when “Cornerback23” came calling. “He Flirted with me… then I Flirted back,” Nadiya says with a giggle.

“We had so much in common from the very start,” beams Matt. But they lived nowhere near each other, so it was some time before they had their first date. Matt made Nadiya a nice dinner. She says “I found him confident, passionate and VERY attractive.” Matt was struck by Nadiya’s in-person presence. “Her smile lit up the room!”

There’s no telling whether a great chemistry online or even on the phone will translate to a date. We encourage our members to meet before feelings become too strong. Matt and Nadiya had passed the test.

“He makes me laugh all the time,” Nadiya says. “I love when he looks at me. His eyes twinkle and I just want to be in his arms.”

Matt feels like the luckiest man in the world. “She’s the sweetest, most caring and genuine person I could’ve wished to meet,” he says.

As their relationship has progressed, the couple are making plans to close the distance between their residences. In fact, they intend to live together—as husband and wife. “I’m happily engaged and eager to marry my best friend!” exclaims Nadiya.

With their wedding now only a few months away, Matt says he can’t wait to buy a home and start a family with Nadiya. “Thanks again for giving me the chance to meet my soulmate!”
