Okay I have seen a doctor about this, had an EKG and wore a heart halter and had my heart listened to, and everything normal. But for the past couple months and more so recently I am feeling heart "flutters" that kind of disturb me, some upper chest pains and occasionally problems breathing.

I have found the symptoms to be better when I "belch" which seems to be more frequent. I know that's gross but it seems to help. I'm still concerned, any ideas what I have? My doctor did these tests but then left it at that (and yes, I'm in the process of trying to find a new doctor, but right now not easy to arrange and so much going on with the holidays).

Most recently, a week ago almost, I picked up something from the floor and my heart went crazy- like beating very fast. I was worn out after that and it has been sore since. All of this is very freaky but as i said test results normal. Help? Suggestions? Thoughts? I don't seem to be having acid reflex- not tasting it in my throat anyway

Heart palpitations (flutters)are common if you have a history of anxiety or panic disorder. The fact that belching helps...I have no idea. Different things work for different people. The chest pain may be also caused by worrying or feeling anxious about the flutters..or vice versa. Sounds to me like an anxiety/stress problem. Perhaps you might want to speak with a psychiatrist as well as a regular MD.http://familydoctor.org/831.xml

I have a heart condition called WPW with will cause the heart to race. when I first started having trouble the doctors didn't believe me because my EKG was normal. Keep bugging the doctor insist on wearing the halter monitor long or request a heart card, it took several weeks of me carrying around a heart card before they were able to catch what was going on with my heart. the most important thing is be persistent, if you don't feel right go to the ER and keep going until you get to the right doctor and some one helps you out. Good luck!

A pinch of baking soda and water will help neutralize acid and help you belch. A spoonful or two of apple cider vinegar will help neutralize acid and ease indigestion. Fresh ginger grated and simmered in water to make a tea will also help. Chewing on a thin slice of ginger will help if you need enzymes. A bottle of 7Up once saved my life, I felt as though my stomach would rupture. Belched about 15 minutes straight after drinking it. Ginger ale would help too. Alka-Seltzer (it has aspirin in it & inflames my stomach so I can't use it). Digestive enzyme tablets may be necessary if you are having a chronic problem. Raw or frozen pineapple has an enzyme that helps digestion, especially proteins.

It sounds like acid reflux disease. I have it and some times it can fell like a heart attack. Try some over the counter stuff and see it that works. If it does it will give you peace of mind untill you can find a doctor that will listen to you and prescribe something for you.

Might esophageal spasms or ERG. I had the same symptoms, went to the ER twice to have them check my heart. They can be very painful, especially if you esophageal erosion. Try some Pepcid, Famotadine or other acid reducer.....Can't hurt.

Are you out of shape? That would have a lot to do with it. If you are very alarmed, and this happens again, I would suggest going in to urgent care (and having someone else drive). It is better to be safe than sorry.

Try drinking a tablespoon of vinegar when you feel symptoms. I heard that this helps.
