Four tattoos.
My first was a little cliche, but it fit me at the time. It's the stylized dragon stencil from the punk band Sick Of It All on my arm, and I've seen it many places. I grew up listening to punk (and still do), so it's still part of who I am and I have no regrets.
My second one is a yin-yang done in Celtic knotwork on the other arm. I got it after a bad breakup, starting a new job, moving to a different state and meeting someone new. The yin & yang are my need to find balance in my life with all the changes, while the knotwork style, being open, can mean that there's a little good & bad both inside and out, and that what comes around goes around.
My third one is below my dragon, and it is a negative band (i.e. a black band with the design "cut out" of it) of Celtic knotwork circling my entire arm. It's about 2" wide, and is a variation of the triangular "eternity" knot. The points of each knot are for body, mind, and spirit, and the pattern repeats and joins all the way around.
I worked hard on the computer to get it sized just right, and it has an even deeper meaning for me. I got it about a year after marrying my soul mate, and she got the same design around her ankle, just not negative. So in essence, we have each other's "puzzle piece" that would become solid together. I've been happily married to her for over seven years now.
My last one took a while to decide on. I'm a bicyclist, and have been for over 15 years. Road, mountain, whatever. If it's got two wheels and a crank, I love it, but I never had a bicycle tattoo until now.
There was an eclectic artist in the 60's named Edward Gorey. Looking at some of his stories, you could say he was the ORIGINAL Goth. Simple, funny, but a little twisted. One of his stories is about two kids that find a bicycle and ride it through a strange journey that ends with them finding a statue that was erected in their name 173 years ago. Then the bicycle collapses.
My tattoo is of both the deceased children riding happily along on this oddly twisted bicycle on my lower leg. Despite all that life has thrown at them or how malevolent they might have been, the bicycle is there to offer up their final journey into the afterlife, and they are shouting, "Whee!" as they roll along.
Bicycling has been such an influence in my life that I feel it's appropriate to have the spirit of such a simple pleasure, even through death, placed on my skin forever.
Perhaps my descriptions are long, but tattoos MEAN something to me, and I'm glad I have them.

I would rather share some wisdom with you.
Yes I have many tattoos, no I don't have time to describe them, and some are offensive in nature.
If you get more tattoos, please avoid getting your special someone's name put on your body, think of explaining that name to the next somebody you want to be with.
If it is the name of your family that's different, and if you have your own name put on your body for means of future identification, please pick a better job, no body pays enough for you to be a bullet sponge, or the grand recipient of cement shoes.

I have two in one, I'll explain. I first got a red heart with blue angel wings and a name (big mistake). A year after that I covered the name with green thorns. The thorns are across the heart. I finally got over it and decided to put a meaning to it. My tattoo means: "My heart is hurt, but free to love". Now I'm getting married to wonderful man and put the negativity behind me. Advice: Don't let bad experiences ruin your life, take them as a way to improve yourself. And of course don't make the dumb mistake to write names or anything else on your skin.
God bless you

3, but technically 4. One on my lower back that is a heart with scroll lines under it, a heart with wings with my sons initials in the center on my right shoulder, then I got my sons footprint on my ankle and added a flower around it.

I have two. One of a Celtic butterfly on my ankle. My oldest daughter has the same one. (take it easy, she's 22!) The other one is derived from a tattoo of a Celtic star she has on her neck. I have a Celtic moon and four of the same stars in my kids' birthstone colors on my arm.
