Technically, you are allowed one carry-on and one briefcase or purse. They usually don't get too upset with two, but if you take two carry-ons (and a briefcase or purse) be willing to check one of them. They may force it.

Generally one plus a personal item like a purse, laptop bag, or briefcase. If you have a purse and a laptop, that's your two.
Sometimes they'll let you take another item too, but don't count on it, and you can't find out ahead of time.

1 carry on with a purse or briefcase. Everything else has to be checked.

no, you can only have one carry on with you, I just got back from vacation this past Saturday and is amazing the restrictions they have, for liquids or gels ( personal items) no more than 3 oz per bottle in a zip luck bag, you can bring bigger bottles in a check in luggage, no drinks of any kind unless you buy them after the check point....I flu from O'Hare in Chicago...they very very strict on this....

Ring your carrier. Different companies have different rules and restrictions. I think one proper carry on and a handbag is the general concensus.
