Farm Pot Roast

Ingredients

(8 servings)

----INGREDIENTS-----
1 4-6 pound Beef Round
2 tb Shortening
1 tb Salt
2 Whole cloves of garlic
2 lg Onions; sliced
2 lg Carrots; sliced
2 cn (16 oz) Stewed Tomatoes
1/2 c - Water
2 tb Flour
1/4 c - Cold water

Instructions

AN EXCELLENT POT ROAST GREAT FOR ENTERTAINING
Dredge the meat in the 1/4 cup flour, season with salt and a little pepper if you like. Brown slowly on all sides in shortening with garlic cloves in a heavy kettle. Watch that garlic--when it's brown lift it out! Add vegetables, return garlic, season to taste. Add 1/2 cup water. Simmer covered, until tender, about 3-1/2 hours. Turn the pot roast occasionally, adding more water if needed. Remove the meat, strain vegetables, and measure broth in pot and add enough meat stock to make 2 cups. Blend and add the 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/4 cup cold water. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Buy some boneless country style pork ribs, then follow these instructions. They turn out awesome, trust me!

In a large crock pot, take the meat (about 4 pounds) make sure you wash the meat in cold water first please.

Add in one bottle of beer

1/2 cup of hot sauce

2 cloves of garlic crushed

1/2 cup Italian dressing

1/4 tsp seasoning salt

Cook on high in the crock pot for about 4-5 hours

Drain the juices then brush with Open Pit Sweet BBQ sauce and broil for about 15 minutes.

Serve this with cheesy scalloped potatoes, a good salad and some steamed veggies. I have yet to meet someone who did not love this. The potatoes are easy, just buy the Betty Crocker ones and follow the directions. Enjoy your dinner party!

We have a big family, so when we cook for alot of people, which we often do, we stay on a budget. We came up with a perfect meal. [almost] One pot and simple.
Start by taking some chicken breasts and cubing them. brown them in a pan with butter until they are cooked thoroughly. then, in a seperate stock pot, start boiling water for minute rice. however many servings you need. add the chicken in the water at some point. doesn't really matter. it isnt exact science. we make ALOT at a time. while the water is boiling, in a bowl combine the amount of rice you need and shredded cheddar cheese. just go off of your personal opinion of what looks right. when the water is boiling, add the rice and cheese in and just prepare like minute rice. try serving with green beans and hot french bread.

this meal is easy, quick, different, and stores great!!

Wow so many of them. Easy. Ask each of them what they like or their favorite then cooks it. So there will be 8 dishes including your favorite dish. Enough for all.

I would go for Italian dinner: pasta, salad, wine and a good dessert, e.g. cheesecake. It looks fancy and it's not that difficult to make.

Good luck!
