I have a conair hair straightner. My hair is naturally wavy and is healthy with mousse and hair spray. When i straighten it, my hair comes out a little dry looking - esp. with the cold weather, it will get frizzier. I started putting a little baby oil before i straighten it and it seems to work - i juss want to know if my hair straightner will get ruined if i keep doing this. Thanks!

Use thermal protectors before you straighten your hair to reduce frizz and to protect your hair from heat damage. Using regular hair spray with a straightening iron can cause the hair to break. Also the type plates on the straightner may have something to do with why your hair is a little dry.

Your hair straightner will start forming residue on the sides. I used to do the same thing and then realized. It won't mess it up, just try to swipe it clean from the plate and edges every so often to keep it from the build-up.

#1 it depends on your hair
#2 depends on your straightner
#3 You dont want you hair getting greasy , you want it looking fresh all day long.
Yes its good to everynow and then put products in your hair . but all the time kills PLUS the straightner . when i use mine , my mom uses stuff in her hair and then i get my straightner all gross. so i gotta clean it off.
Its always good to put product in your hair AFTER you straightne it , it gives it a healthy glow and makes it look very natural

dont put the pomade on afterwards if you get it wet after you straighten it(yes this includes products) it will get wavy again instead try some style hold with heat protection i use got 2 b guardian angel (you can use the one for straightening or curling, they're both exactly the same) it works great good luck! :]

Using baby oil before you straighten your hair will not harm it. It will only make it shiner and more manageable.

Yes! When your flat iron is cooled down, wash it carefully with a gentle soap. Those products will definitely create a barrier!

I have never used baby oil, but I use anti-freeze serum, and that doesn't mess up mine, but I'm not sure about the baby oil.
