Find a brother or sister that would be about70 years old.?

Question

My wonderful mother passed away last year. When I was going thru her papers, i found information, that makes me think she had a baby before she was married. I found the doctor bill's and also a newspaper article that was about her boyfriend. I believe he went on to be a medical doctor and never knew. We do have some other information. I am so sad my mother had kept this secret. Has it been too long to look (70 yrs.). My sister wants me to ,my chilrdren see no reason to. It is something I would want to do for my mother.

If you aren't sure from the bill as to whether there was a baby, then you might want to consider probating her estate to get her medical records. If you or your sister were born in hospitals, then her medical records would state specifically whether she'd had a baby before whichever one of you was born first. If she didn't have a baby before then, she'd be listed at primagravida (first pregancy). Doctors can tell whether she mentioned it to them or not.


If you know that she did and from the bill on what day, I'd start checking on reunion registry websites to see if anyone born on that date and in that place for biological relatives. You can also put out a query on those sites with your information and see if anyone bites.

hmm good question.

since you have the Dr bills and all, the child may have been put up for adoption. Check with the county court house see if there was any children at that time. That's where I would start.

It was up to her to let you know about it. Respect peoples decisions. Pray for her since she might be able to see you but in an other dimension.
