They can only believe in what they see right before them, which isn't much I'm afraid.

There isn't a God and that is the most probable conclusion based on the facts available... therefore, "it's the truth" ... and this is not a "stupid" answer since the contrast is: There is a God and that's based on what the Bible says... therefore, "it's the truth" .... Now, there's a really stupid answer.

The most common error made by those who believe in the notion of God, (and by some who do not,) is in the misconception that the universe had a beginning. It did not. Even the Big Bang theorists don't look upon that event as if it was an initiating step which resulted in our universe but rather that it was the event that shaped our universe. There is quite a difference in the two... The stuff of our universe always was and it always will be - matter and energy in space and time - and all of it is in continuous interaction and all of it is ever changing.

The universe was not created or initiated in any way, it didn't have a beginning and it cannot be destroyed so an end to it is very unlikely to ever occur. Just like the concept of "Creation," "Armageddon" is an equally silly and ill-thought-out notion which is touted by mankind's God-based religions and believed by their illtaught followers. Armageddon is an illogically supported and fantastic concept without even the first reason to think it is likely worthy of a second thought. Our universe is infinite while the idea of God is merely a temporary belief system currently directed by an amoral group of power driven leaders and supported by the narrow minded, cowardly and equally dishonest followers who spread its lies, and by the weaker individuals who apparently can't think their way out of a paper sack - the faithful flocks.

As to, "...where did we all come from..." Look, this stuff is easy to understand but I'll take the time to tell it to you personally once more. CREATION is NOT at all true. EVOLUTION is very, very likely TRUE. Believe me on this if you are to lazy to do your homework... or get with it and work it out on you own after you read a little biology and chemistry and physics... but make no mistake that what is printed in the holy books on this subject of mankind's origins is pure C r A p in a picnic basket.

Now... It's time for me to ask you to PLEASE get real before you and your religion help lead us into a new world war. And please get educated and honest because I would like to have a better class of neighbor.

POST SCRIPT to those who DO believe there is a God, (excluding MAX G and Betsy):

How in the world do you rationalize your righteousness? As an Atheist, I find it quite laughable that you seem to think you have the power to get inside my brain, to know exactly what I think and why I believe as I do and that you somehow magically understand exactly what my experiences have been to cause all of this.

Get off your high horses and look in the mirror once in a while. There is a very good chance that you'll see the reflection of a world-class fool.

Cosmos are pretty amazing. We might not be able to explain everything yet. But there's absolutely no evidence pointing towards God existing.

Even so, God doesn't answer the question. Even if it does make sense that God made it all, where did God come from? "God" just puts the problem one step further from us. It's no more logical an explanation, AND it's absolutely not based in any truth whatsoever.

Just because we're lacking in answers doesn't mean we get to make them up.

I think some people don't believe in god because they don't feel like they need answers to where we came from or how the universe started. Truth about the origin is unknowable and, even if known, would not change the current state of affairs. If I had a choice, I much rather know where the world is going than where it came from.

Some people will refuse to give power to any mortal man. No one knows what any other person has been through. So how can you give "blind" faith to a man or woman that may or may not be better than you? The only God that i believe in is myself. Everyone is a God to their own Universe; our bodies. We ultimately control it don't we? Religion is a source of power. No King or Queen that i know of is ever willing to give up power of the people. Just my opinion.

If some Super Being HAD to exist to kickstart all the "atoms, gases, planets" - then what created the Super Being, who would by definition be far more complex than all of that which He created.

Because they are given a choice to believe in what they want to believe in. I believe that God is real and that we weren't created by an explosion (I'm not trying to start a Yahoo War, I promise!) or gases, but by God Himself.

There's no evidence.
If anything the fact that there are billions of stars, most of which we can't even see, implies that there was no intelligence involved in the creation of the universe. Why would a god go to all that extra trouble, when we really only need one planet, and one star?

It's easier for most people to believe that God does not exist. Ever seen "Contact"? There was a lot of truth in there. People think it's silly and simple-minded to believe in a higher power. It's very sad isn't it? I'm glad I know He's real.

Yeah, there are surely answers to those questions, but just because it's unknown doesn't automatically mean gods and religion are the answer. Could be something we'll never even be able to think of.

P.S. I don't believe because I don't, end of story.
