While reading the answers 2 a question asked by "saltmom1479" i was shocked! A lot of people said that we (bartenders, servers, busboys, ect) should get real jobs. There would be no restaurants or bars. What would u do if we did that?

Please don't listen to them. I firmly believe that every person should have to perform the job of waiter or waitress one time in their life so they can learn to appreciate how difficult the job is. It is one of the most thankless jobs out there. Stay strong and do your job with pride. If the blue collar folks like service industry and truck drivers and trash haulers stopped working the entire society would collapse!!!

I have total respect for people who work in the "Service Industry". There is no way in hell I could do that, someone would have something smart to say to me and I would spill their plate in their lap and leave. I don't go to restaurants that much, but when I do, I notice that the servers are treated really bad. I feel so bad for them that I almost always want to tell the other people off for their rude behavior. I really feel sorry for those who have to clean up after other people's children.

I really don't think they thought that one out- and I made more money in tips being a waitress- now called a server, than being an LPN in a Texas hospital- those people could not go out and dine or have a drink==D

Dont be bothered by that remark coz that's never gonna happen anyway... There will always be restaurants, bars, etd as long as there are customers. Service industries need people with "skills" in order to survive...

I didn't read the question you refer to but I have bussed and waited while attending college (many years ago) and they were some of the most thankless and difficult jobs I've ever done.

People talk a lot out of their a*ses, but that's the fun of this site.

first of all , define " real job " . i am a chef with 30 years in the food industry, we need and appreciate the service people we employ. a lot of these suit and tie "real" job holders could not boil water if shown how.

Don't pay any attention to them. A job is a job no matter what. People who said that are probably insecure with their own jobs.
