Makes you wonder if some of the supposed "champions" were ever good....I think Ali was tied to the mob. He fought in an era when teh mob controlled everything, from vegas to hollywood. This is the reason why ali is a paper champion, and his records should be expunged.

If you mean the Mafia when you say "mob", I'd say their peak years was from the mid-40's to the early-60's. Their influence was pretty big, they really controlled who got the title shots.
But it has always been run by the corrupt, the Tex Rickard promoters of the early 1900's to the Don King's of today.
Even though Ali was no friend to the mob when he started as a pro, they knew he was a draw and a money maker. Don King just took it to a worldwide level for him in the 70's.
But he truly was the best of his time. Only Frazier and Ken Norton could hold their own with him. If there would have been any other potential contenders who could have beat him, they would have got their shot.
They got so desperate by 1978 that they had Leon Spinks fight him with less than 10 pro fights on his record. He only got that because he was a '76 Olympic champion, but still he pulled off the upset. Ali was already 36 at the time.

Bulls***. I don't want to hear crap like that. The mob tried to control Ali and he said with the help of mayor people in the Black Power movement that they will take affirmative action to eliminate a negative threat. They were willing to die for him and in return he brought options fishing rights of the cost of Chile bring in cash and promote the Black Power Muslim movement.
Ali was never a brought man, his record is like himself honourable. I don't need to read rubbish like this, if you have any valid evidence then bring it forward. If not, its baseless without any substance and therefore will be treated as a load of rubbish.
If you want to know ask the mob.

i wouldnt go that far but the mob certainly did used to have huge effects on everything, but i really doubt ali is faking his brain deadness he got from getting pounded
