i am getting a lizard tattoo in honor of my dad, lizard was a nickname he gave me. he died when i was 13 and i want to keep it very simple but somehow add a detail on the lizard making it extra special that might not get noticed to much but i'll know its there kinda symbolizing my father. maybe the years of his life, something like that

Well i drew out a tatty 4 my buddie before and he wanted to symbolize his dad too. but only it was on a massive sheild and to symbolize his dad was on a certain part .
The whole years of his life thing is good.
but its VERY original, unless you like that , then go 4 it it would be fine . and wouldnt look bad.
~Maybe make the colors of the lizard your dads favorite colors.
~Maybe "give the lizard a name" ( your dads lol )
~Maybe have 2 lizards in a way like its you AND him symbolizing that .
~Maybe Put an object that the lizard could be crawling on that reminds you even more of your pa'
Frankly its hard 2say when you dont know ( me ) much about the person you are speaking about. only you know alot about him right ?
Just think of things like
* why you loved him *
*what do you see when you close your eyes and think of him .. besides his face *
*what feeling do you get *
that kind of stuff. and explain it to your tattoo artist .
sounds like a good choice in a tattoo though!

check which year father is born.. look through a Chinese horoscope to see which animal that represent the year which he is born.....

if he was born in the year of dragon.. then get a dragon tattoo..

or maybe u can try english horoscope if u don't like the idea of chinese 1.....

or maybe u should just stick with the idea of the lizard tattoo..

You get the word dad written in chinese characters inside the lizard's body.

if your dad had a tatt have the tattoo artist put it on the lizard, don't just pick a lizard picture off the wall, and if its representing your dad, put it on your shoulderblade so he's always looking over your shoulder and watching your back.

Aww thats sweet. When i read it I thought of what I do in my artwork. If you look close i have a sort of signature in all my drawings, my initials hidden in the work. Perhaps you could get the design on your lixard in his initials in an abstract way. Only you would know what it says.

The idea of if I ever have a daughter, then pass away, & she cheapens my life so much as to reduce it to a tat on her body is rather sad. Why dont you put it on your breast under the heart that sez "Mom" or on your butt under the boxing gloves that sez "Hit it hard" or on your inner thigh under the one that sez "Slippery when wet". Either way no matter where you put it I am sure your father would be proud that he is a tattoo on your body. ORRRR maybe just maybe, you are not doing it for your dad at all. Rather just a conversation piece to bring attention to yourself?

Leviticus chapter 19 verse 28, the Lord clearly condemns tattoos, "Ye shall not make any . . . print any marks upon you."
