I used to think Pounce treats were great---my cats loved them and they were 'tartar control' and so on.

The fact of the matter, however, is that Pounce treats are NOT good. Read the labels if you don't believe me. The treats are made of things like corn, soy, wheat, by-products, artificial preservatives and so on. NONE of those ingredients are healthy or beneficial to your cat in ANY way.

If you're looking for a good 'treat', Petsmart sells these little containers (in the cat treat section) of freeze-dried shrimp. They're the perfect treat because they're all natural and healthy for your cat!

If you're concerned about the 'hairball' treats...just feed a hairball formula cat food (a high quality cat food, mind you...no Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Whiskas, ect.) and make sure it has Psyllium in it...Psyllium is a soluable fiber that is included in most hairball formulas as it causes the fur to be moved through the digestive tract.

Good luck with the new cat!

Pounce snacks are fine. Just don't feed too many because they are pretty rich and might cause your kitty to vomit.
Have fun with your new pet.

Pounce is good for their teeth. My cats love it--at least the chicken and turkey one. They don't like fish.

Horrible brand. Full of sugar and salt and artificial ingredients. Cats are carnivores, offer meat-based treats and foods. "Greenies cat Treats", "Natures Recipe", "Nutro" "TechniCal" are good brands for treats.

no nutritional value... the hard treats at least clean the teeth.. the soft ones stick to the teeth

rule of thumb: anything you can buy in grocery or wal mart is Crap

if you see commercials for a food or treat - its crap - they are putting money into Advertising NOT ingredients

Not really. It has a lot of additives like colorings that are carcinogenic, and too much salt which can lead to kidney problems later on.
