For one, face your fear. Understand that just so as you were born, you will die. Death is the ultimate fate of us all. It's foolish to be afraid of death, it's an inevitable part of life. Chances are, your time is more than half a century from now, so why worry about it? Unless you are a 88 year old person with congestive heart failure and you have suffered a few heart attacks and strokes in the past ten years, I do not think you have to stay up at night worrying about dying in your sleep. OK? If you have a chronic ailment, receive regular medical care and take your medicines, take exercise daily and eat healthy foods. Get fresh air and sunshine each day. Stop thinking morbid thoughts.

Well, you're certainly not going to "die" of insomnia, if that is indeed what you have. Sounds like you're wound up and running on fumes. Bet you just got done with finals.
So you need to get somebody to give you a massage. Or give yourself a massage using a tennis ball. (Serious. Roll it around on your scalp and face and jaw and over your ears and press it onto your neck. Put it beneath your back muscles and lie on it on the floor and breathe into the spot of pain ... there will be pain. I bet your muscles are so knotted you don't even realize.) It'll make you sleepy. Works every time for me.
Or watch the movie _The Machinist_ about a guy who suffers from insomnia after accidentally killing a child on the road. It might creep you out more. But it also might bore you to sleep.

You could have insomnia. Insomnia is too little or poor-quality sleep caused by one or more of the following:
Trouble falling asleep
Waking up a lot during the night with trouble returning to sleep
Waking up too early in the morning
Having un-refreshing sleep (not feeling well rested), even after sleeping 7 to 8 hours at night

I believe the maximum ammount of time a persons brain can go without sleep is about 9 days. You should see a doctor, you might have a certain type of illness that is causing this. Or at least try sleeping Pills first. But do it right away because you can die.

I would make an appointment with a therapist to find out what you are really afraid of. Then see a regular m.d. to get a physical checkup to see if anything like your blood pressure or something is wrong.
Another thing you could do is speak to a pastor, rabbi or whatever faith you happen to be about what is being going on in your mind that has made you afaird.
I wish you good luck & sweet dreams.

...I went through the same thing you're going through. I'm being honest with you. It's alright. Please sleep, hon. I know it's terrifying and the sudden realization that we're going to die someday does strike fear into my heart sometimes, but faith in God helps SO much with these fears. Even if you're skeptical, please keep in mind that He exists and will cast aside your fear and insecurities about your life. I went through this about 3 months ago. I was sitting at home and all of a sudden, severe shock overrode my body and I realized that I was going to die one day.... I was so terrified that I had a severe panic attack and turned to my mother, sobbing uncontrollably and couldn't sleep for 3 nights at ALL. I was so severely in shock, I just didn't know when I'd get over it. That's when I started to believe. My parents have always been religious and I haven't. I was skeptical and I didn't think it was possible for a God to exist. I was looking at things that I shouldn't have been (as any young adult would do) and all of a sudden, a wave of terror filled my body and I felt something fill my body... and that's when I think I finally got it. It took something so powerful to turn me around and conquer my fears. And I am grateful for it. And with the holidays coming up, I'm even more grateful for God, AND my family. I hope this helps. Have a very Merry Christmas. :-)

Go to bed in a quiet room and make the commitment to lay still.
Sleep will come but by all means tell your parents.
Sounds to me like your just stressed out now.
Get in bed, be still and sleep will come if you are commited to not getting up.
