I was 6 months pregnant when my job transfered me to a position that was less hours and I lost my health insurance. I applied for medicaid and they covered ALL of my doctors bills for the three months prior to my application and all of my expenses until I was 6 weeks post pardum. They also helped me get signed up for WIC to help me with necessary food during pregnancy and breastfeeding and for my daughter when I stopped nursing.

If he lost his job, he can get on unemployment and employers also have to offer extended insurance. People should do whatever they have to do to avoid goverment assistance. If he is able to work then he should be looking for a new job and that can be done while collecting unemployment.

There is no welfare program anymore but she can probably get a medical card for help with the prenatal and delivery Dr visits as well as WIC for her first child to help with food.

Have him go down to the unemployment office, then contact the state welfare office. That is a question for professionals. Well at least for the clowns that work for the state

most states try to cover pregnant women. check through medicaid. just google the name of their state and health insurance for the poor or unemployed.

now, if he loses his job, the law is his insurance is still available to him under COBRA for 18 months. often not affordable, tho.

call congress right away and ask for universal health care and remember to support politicians who want to help americans stop suffering like this.

Your daughter should go down to the health department, they should help her with no problem. She should also go get WIC.
