What exactly is the problem with today's American society that Christians find so objectionable? To me, it seems like things are improving every year.
Would you rather go back to an era of racial separation, lynchings, poverty, limited entertainment options, no internet, poor hygiene, poor factory wages, shame over unwed pregnancy, poor career options for women, lowered life expectancy, and McCarthyism?

ANSWERERS: How can it be said that there is no morality any more? Crime rates are WAAAY down, and the number of teen pregnancies is dropping. This seems like a black-or-white perspective.

Christians are not critical of today's morality, but rather the lack thereof. Our society has an ever increasing reliance on the collection of material things, the abuse of substances, the GREAT breakdown of family units and family values....and on. God is ever more squeezed out of our lives, work, government, etc. He is marginalized and so are we Christians....like there is something wrong with us wanting our society and culture to honor God (however you believe in Him) as a nation and as a people. We are almost not allowed.

Christians feel threatened that society is becoming ever more secularized. As a Christian, I think the issue lies in morality versus justice. Justice is much better these day, while issues of morality seem to have downgraded. I think that the defeat of slavery would please Christ more than the increase of buxom young ladies parading about on television would displease him. But that's just me, and I don't think I really fit the mold of an Evangelical.

I think it has more to do with gratuitous sex, gays, violence, gender bending, vulgarity, child rapists getting probation. There is a lot of really bad stuff going on...But if you want to be blind to it all, that's your choice.
As for the drop in crime statistics...that has to do with better policing, and some parents actually getting involved with kids. Granted, there have been many progressions over the years, but there have been many many setbacks as well.
You have to look at the world in a wider view. I can only bet that you don't have children. When you do, you will start to see the many threats to children, and morality in general.

I would like to go back to people covering up their bodies a bit more. I hate seeing bras and underwear sticking out of clothes. I hate hearing foul language on tv and radio, and yes I do turn it and don't allow my children to watch or listen. It seems the more things have improved socially or economically, the less respect and decency our society has. It just seems that innocence is gone.
God Bless and Merry Christmas.

well, i think there is no morality anymore, but i agree that things are improving every year, the same people who are critical wouldn't hesitate to use the internet or get a new car, or have the latest kind of surgery for illness.

Every society that disappeared in history, was because of their loss of morals and they had corruption on a grand scale, couldn't pass laws and bills sort of like our last congress.IF you still think your right just ask any teacher how much harder it is to teach kids in to-days society compared to fifteen or twenty years ago.

Because they live under the delusion that shows like “Leave it to Beaver” and later shows like “The Brady Bunch” actually happened.
They didn’t. America is improving morally and we live in a more accepting country than ever before, thankfully.
(Singing) You got to admit it’s getting better; it’s getting better all the time.
gratuitous sex, gays, violence, gender bending, vulgarity, child rapists getting probation. = These things are not new to our society. They've always been there. Exposing them is a step to fixing the problem. Although, I think gratuitous sex is just fun and gays and gender bending aren't a problem to me - lol

Because we care about our children and their future. Why would we want our kids to be able to watch almost pornographic scenes on tv, and listen to rap and rock stars singing about hoes b-t-h-s, and about using drugs, and murdering people and about disrespecting their parents. And learning in public that it is ok to be homosexual, and have sex with whoever you want as long as you wear a condom. What is wrong with morals like the ten commandments, is it wrong to teach your children not to murder, or not to be greedy, or to love your neighbor, or to respect your parents. Is it wrong to teach your kids that abortion is murder.

Dude, it's all about the family. Immorality tears it apart. How many of us would die to have a decent family that hasn't been torn apart with our own hand or those of our parents. Get a clue.
