I am going to study certain questions that are posted, and put them into four catagories:
Christian to Athiest, "non-violent"
Christian to Athiest, "violent"
Athiest to Christian, "non-violent"
Athiest to Christian, "violent"
After the end of an undetermined time period (2-4 hours) at an undetermined time, I will post my results.
Hypothesis: Each group is equal in their actions.

Okieeeeee to explain. Sorry I did not before.
By 'violent' I meant stuff like slander, insulting, offending done purposely. For example, "ATHIESTS YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL" Would be considered something used to offend someone.
by "non-violent" well, you should know the opposite to it. For example, a question like, "Athiests: How did you come to think this way?" You know, just a general question of curiosity meant in no way to hurt someone.
The questions that are going to be focused on are ones directed at groups, and only related to Yahoo! Answers.
And like this question, "Which group hates on the other more?" is not a bad question, but one of curiousness.
Apparently, some people are already offended! I'm not suprised; They're afraid to know the truth (That which I don't know, hence the idea) and people are afraid of things they do not understand.
As for when, it could be tonight, or tomorrow, two weeks from now or at this moment.
I don't mind response at all!

It is unfortunate if they are the same, but wouldn't be surprising. As many have already stated - there are a lot of fakes out there and any results, though interesting, would not accurately reveal "who is more violent". Rather it would show the hostility often displayed within R&S.
What can be determined by careful observation is who are the real Christians. Not that we're perfect but the Bible does say that you will be able to recognize them (us). I would be interested in hearing the outcome.
MT 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

For this to be valid at all, you'd have to NOT have said you're doing this. Now people know you're doing this, and they will not be as authentic as they would be without knowing.
In other words, taking a number of random and large samples that are *in the past* would be more accurate.
Do you have a pair of dice handy?
They are a fairly good random number generator:
Roll one or two dice for how many days ago you'll start classifying questions (or roll the two dice at LEAST 12 times for the page that you'll start on).
Roll two dice at least five times for the number of posts you'll sample from your starting point. Or roll the two dice once for how many pages you'll sample, from your starting point.
Classify the samples. Then repeat at least five times.
I think you'll also have to do some sort of checking on posters' profiles and how long they have been here. It would be really helpful if everyone had a Yahoo ID that stated their religion, but that's not likely to be the case.
You really also ought to run a check on clones, and so on, but i have no idea how you'd do that.

Sweetie, honey, of course they're the same!
What planet have you been living on?
Some of the most evil, horrible acts have been by Christians doing "God's work".
And some very evil people believe they ARE Christians!
Also, athieism doesn't make you violent. Usually, these people just want to be left alone.

Hi. I'm sorry, but what relevance to anything does atheist vs Christian have. There are many more religions and faiths than Christianity. Are you looking to provoke an argument? There are many more relevant ways. ID vs evolution, for instance. Red Sox vs Yankees. Hitler's Nazism vs Judaism. The American way of life vs just about anything else. My answer? Not interested. Pick something with more imagination.

"Certain Questions" sounds like "Select Merchandise". To do a proper "experiment", you have to check all the questions and compare that result to a control group of questions.
If this works out, please try to get an accurate result that reflects the mental health, age and IQ of both the questioners and respondents.
Remember also, a true proof of a "Hypothesis" requires a truly objective experiment based on empirical evidence.<

That WOULD be interesting. I would agree with you hypothesis. The question is "why" for me. I wish you could then ask them why they gave the answer they gave and what they were feeling at the time. Still, I would be interested in seeing your experiment.
I think “Bonsylar” misses the point (as well as a lot of other people). You're missing the scientific aspect of it. How do you know until you conduct the experiment? You don't, you can only guess.

Your opinion of "violent and non-violent" questions is most likely different from mine, but why not? Maybe extend the experiment to also include the responses.

I think you should look at past post, therefore nobody is pretending to be of the other belief. Hopefully nobody on here would ever do that though.

Hmm, "violence" is going to be hard to determine. It'll be interesting tho. Also, now that the subjects know they're in a test, you're inviting all kinds of fake "christians" and "atheists" to do...whatever.
