I suggest going to a smoke shop that has a humidor and check them out. For one thing to get a cigar for $2.50 is not a bad price for one cigar -- so you can get several for $15. I purchased a box of cigars for $120 once -- and that is more than I usually spend. I recommend going to a smoke shop that has a humidor versus a speciality cigar place. You will be able to tell the difference in their pricing -- does not make a difference on the quality.

Also -- check the ends to be sure there is no spaces and it's a tight even roll, and that there are no veins in the leaf wrapping the cigar.
