One word at a time.
Use flashcards. Record the words off the Internet.
Use this program, it's free: cuecard download it and make your own flashcards, or use the computer screen as a big whgacking flashcard.
Then learn sentences.
Get a DVD player English language films and repeat what the actors say as you read the subtitles.
There are excellent computer programs for this.

Communicate more and more......my best advise is use Yahoo answer more and more go in language/english/grammer and some other category of Yahoo Answer,
and listen the Music and Watch DVD.....but best way is Communication

There is an Iraqi translator working for the US right now who taught himself using 80's songs and old movies. If you can't get to a class I suppose anything could work.
