Yes you can freeze collard green stems. We use large zip lock freezer bags. Just put some in a zip lock bag and when finished go ahead and make sure that it is zipped up properly and place the bag in the freezer; if you have a lot you would want to portion it out. Its really not too bad but it is kind of messy though when I freeze them. But really that's all you need to do for collard greens.

You don't really want to leep the stems, do you? The stems are very thick and take a long time to cook. The actual leaf you can cook and then freeze for sure. I do it often. I throw the stems out and never keep them.

yes you can cook them all the way - let them cool & put in freezer containers

throw the stems away.
they are VERY bitter.
