Many people believe that money buys power. Someone who feels powerless in his/her life believes that if they only had more money, everything would be OK, If only we could all learn that we don't need power to be content.

people are not hungry for money, they are hungry for being admired. Some like to tell others what to do and feel empowered by it. to some, money affords certain rights, though only in the minds of those who buy into it.

You can't live without it. The poor have a good reason to be money hungry; some people live one paycheck away from homelessness. Our modern society makes it impossible to live without money; when people lived on the land it was different.
