God will punish at judgment day. Now is the time to do what is right so we will not be punished. That's taking in accurate knowledge and making sure we act in accordance with god's laws. God is aware of our limitations because we are imperfect humans(psalms 103:14)However if we trust in god he will make our path straight proverbs 3:5,6

The Bible says that God "disciplines" his children. The word for discipline refers to a shaping and directing with a specific purpose in mind. The purpose given in Scripture is that we would become more like Christ. "Punishment" is merely getting back at someone for doing wrong.

No, He does not punish. We will allow us to endevour trials to strenghten our faith, but He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

(James 1:2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

(James 1:3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

(James 1:4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
