Boiling works and it's really easy. It doesn't take as much time and effort as steaming (I think steaming is kinda a pain in the ***) but be careful not to boil them for too long or else they will become all mushy and nasty. 7-10 minutes is usually good enough.

baking vegetable such as squash, potatoes, beans, peas, carrots, zuchinni, mushrooms and more at about 300-350 with a little water in the pan. you may add butter and season with spices such as garlic.. basil.. thyme. You may even make a dijon chicken like this at the bottom of casserole place slice onion, and then continue to layer with chicken breast covered in dijon mustard (i prefer Maille) , and then zuchinni, mushrooms... another squash... etc... place a few dabs of butter... cover with lid or foil... also add basil.. Cook for an hour at 350- and it is wonderful. Then veggies are all soft. NOW you need to learn to also enjoy veggies cooked lightly that remain fress, slighty crisp, and filled still with the nutrients that your body needs. MMMMMMMMM

I just wash the vegetables, put them in a casserole glass dish add water until the vegetables are covered and put them in the microwave, it is important that you cover them with a lid, it depends on the vegetables, fresh or frozen. It takes about twelve minutes. You just need to check it.

God only knows why you want your vegetables really soft...but if you have to have them, steaming is the way to go. Just steam them until they turn to inedible mush.
