i think it is okay since the baggage is checked. you can always call the airline 800 # or the airport to double check.

I believe that the TSA suggests that you do not travel with any wrapped presents in your checked as well as your carry on luggage. You can get more information if you go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/

Technically you can take wrapped gifts but they prefer you not to because it saves them the trouble of having to put it through a scanner and what not. It also might save you time of having to wait for them to scan it and what not.
Basically, there is no rule saying you can't.

they probably won't but they do have the right to unwrap them if they want. best thing is to leave them unwrapped and wrap them when you get there.

to be on the safe side, try to wrap them when you arrive to your destination..one never knows what they are going to do...specially around the holidays....I just got back from vacation this past Saturday and they have a lot of restrictions specially with carry ons, look at the airline web site for restrictions

*** they shouldn't have to unwrap them unless it looks like drugs/bombs inside. that's what the xray machines are for.
