Blasphemy is rejection of the Holy Spirit. Therefore unless you heed to His calling, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blasphemy is like taking the lord's name in vain. Like when you say a prayer to the Lord and it doesn't get answered...that is taking his name in vain. If I tried to saw a piece of wood with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich I would be using the sandwich in vain...same goes with prayer. After you have used his name in vain you have to ask for forgiveness and no telling if that would work or not. After all, he did just shun you on what you were praying for and made you commit blasphemy...I'd just try another religion at that point.
That is just a lesser known of the blasphemies that Christians commit. Many other things are blasphemy, just thought I would answer with a lesser known one.
I don't dislike Christians. They just have a mind virus. I don't like the virus.

Blasphemy is attributing something to God that isn't true, like saying God causes people to sin, or that Jesus was promiscuous, or things like that.
Some of the trolling questions which say things like "Jesus did XYZ" are technically blasphemy. Lying on your taxes, not tithing etc, are not blasphemy.
Desecrating a sanctuary is sacrilege, but not blasphemy.
Kind of scattered tonight, but I hope that helps.

This is a great question! you made me do some research =)
a quick answer is this...
The word would suggest injurious speech. when you break down it's roots. Meaning when you injure God with your speech, you can also be accused of this if you do the same with the Bible, the holy Spirt, Jesus...so on and so forth
You can check out more and some examples at http://www.christiancourier.com/articles/read/blasphemy_what_is_this_great_sin
This website has examples straight from the bible and breaks it down into how it will effect you today.
Good luck and God Bless

Speaking of God in a profane way. Making false claims about God. Taking His name in vain, using it in ways that it was never meant to be used. Good Question!

I wonder if Jesus actually used that word, or if it was jjuiced up along the way by some well-meaning theologians. it's very possible the word was originally something else. Who knows which dictionary Jesus was using 2000 years ago.
