The history channel said that God himself drove the stakes into his sons hands and feet. I think this is starting to sound like a fairy tale. I was a christian 2 days ago. But, that changed my mind I think. Is the history channel facual?

You need to get into the Bible. Compare everything anyone says with Scripture. If it is true in the Bible embrace it. If it is false cast it from you.

The History Channel is not a reliable source of information and an overwhelming majority of astronomers and scientists are firmly opposed to the 2012 hysteria. The History Channel finds a couple of nut jobs, gives them an hour or two of programming time and makes a documentary that tries to pass itself off as legitimate "history". The history channel also regularly runs specials on the Biblical end times, monsters, ufos and other pseudoscience and antiscience. They do it because it draws in viewers and makes them money. The little H logo does not give it any credibility or mean it's accurate or true. If you want to see generally accurate educational programming, watch the Science Channel. Discovery and Nat Geo are hanging in there although I've witnessed some signs that they may be headed in the History Channel's direction. OPB has a few decent science programs once in awhile. Please, I beg you, be very skeptical of any show on television. A couple of good publications that give the real story behind garbage like 2012 and other mythical apocalypse mumbo-jumbo are Skeptic Magazine and Skeptical Inquirer. Check them out and wow your friends with your new logical and scientific knowledge.

NO!

I have seen many things there based on peoples opinions.

They always try to show the latest theories as facts. Like the gospel of Judas for example. Clearly written long after any other manuscripts. Clearly an impostor document in contrast with the whole message of Jesus.

So. Being Christian is not a title.

It involves obeying Jesus's commands and teachings and submitting to God. Satan wants our souls. He knows he's doomed. Be on guard.

Pray.

Pray for mercy and truth and strength.

And learn from reading the Bible.

You should stay away from things like the history channel until you gain enough strength to keep your footing. Satan is the Prince of this world. Tv wants ratings at the expense of anything.

Anyway, research for yourself whatever you saw. And be on guard.

History is a strange thing. It's interpretation is in the eyes of the beholder. To us (I'm a white man of European descent), we won the United States by fighting more fiercely than the Native Americans. To the Native Americans, we stole their homeland.

So keep that in mind when watching programs about history.

I will tell you that RARELY to TV shows about religion get it right. The Discovery Channel has been running a series about the Bible and they get it COMPLETELY WRONG. I would laugh when I see the programs if it weren't for the confused souls that it distracts away from the truth.

If THC suggested that it was God that drove the nails through Christs hand, then they got it wrong.

It was you...

And me...

And every single human being who has ever existed.

And Christ subjected himself to this punishment for OUR sins voluntarily because he loves us. We drove the nails, Jesus accepted them voluntarily.

You can't be a Christian 2 days ago and then all of a sudden not be one. Don't rely on the History Channel to get your doctrine, Read your Bible. The Holy Spirit tells it the way it is.

Praying for you...

The History Channel presents documentaries that are often made from a certain point of view. They usually also present them from the other side as well, so they tend to be fair.

Generally yes. But that sounds like a persons opinion, not fact. Remember, its still television and a tv station will do what sells. The world runs on money and if they think something is controversial enough, they'll televise it.

At this point, I'm firmly in the belief that sooner or later, they're going to start televising executions because it makes "good tv".

The history channel is interesting. If you're confused on the facts, read the Bible. If that confuses you, talk to someone who KNOWS the Bible.
