Christian literally means "follower of Christ".

This question is really highly subjective and depends entirely on your own beliefs. I think a lot of religious leaders would strongly emphasize that you believe "everything" of your particular sect. Some would go so far as to deny your claims to faith if you didn't. I think that's a relatively rare syndrome, though.

Personally, I feel that if a person believes in the most basic points of their religion {in your case, Jesus is the Christ, Jesus is the son of God, et cetera}, if they truly and deeply feel that other facets of morality are not as their leaders say they are, it's not going to send you to hell or disqualify you as a believer. One can't be asked to do or state something that they don't really affirm in their 'heart of hearts'.

You are a Christian if you believe that the only way you can get to God is through His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose from the grave to defeat death.

If there are other things that Christians claim to believe that you don't yet believe, that's okay. It may sound cliche, but you need to read the Bible and pray. It took me a long time to get to where I am in my faith, and I still have a long way to go. But God has been revealing Himself and His Truth to me slowly, as I seek Him.

Is not believing some of these things a sin? I'm not sure. What I do believe is that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him, so I hope that you will keep seeking and trying to find out what is true.

No it’s not a sin to think. Word “sin” appears hundreds of times in NT. Same word appears only 14 times in the whole of the nag hammadi collection. Obviously the NT writers (Peter’s disciples) were obsessed with sin, while the gnostics (Jesus & Mary Magdalene’s disciples) were into more productive teachings.

I am not sure what your question is, but here is a biblical definition:

1John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is transgression of the law.

2nd Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

If you dont believe that then understand:

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God's word is His truth you either believe Him at His word or you don't at all.

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

That's almost an oxy-moron. It's like saying I believe but I don't believe. But I think more information is in order to answer your question; namely, what don't you believe?

Depends on your motive and your heart and what everything you are talking about. If you have an honest heart and are seeking truth, you will find it. God honors honest questions and you will find answers.
