"trying to do a study"? Really? Have you constructed your null hypothesis yet?
What part does "culture" have in determining the existence or non-existence of "civilization"? What part does "religion" have in determining the existence or non-existence of "civilization"?
Why "cave men"?
What does "gay community" have to do with anything?

well, today's version of civilization is the only one that every really condemned homosexuality, so im my oppinion, the cave men were in a sense more civilized, and therefore would have been fine with it
as any civilized people in the world today should be.

Honest question is a clue that you might be lying. Without religion people would be more free to work on making a better society. Im sure we would still find reason to kill each other.

Culture is essential to civilization, but religion is not, notwithstanding the fact that all cultures have religions. We have no information with respect to dealing with homosexuality in cave-man times; any comment on that would be pure speculation.

there is no strictly gay community now. there was probably more gayness going on. what with hanging out in a dark cave all the time.

Yes. It is perfectly normal. It was until religion messed it up. religion can be such a buzzkill.
