She should return thank-you cards to each that gave her a gift. Possible she could bake some cookies to share with her co-workers as well. If she is still working in the same job next year, she should plan ahead and give modest gifts as well. For my co-workers (only the ones that work in my department....6 people) I purchased unique oniments...they cost me $3.00 each. I will give them tomarrow, and they will be very much appreciated.....but..I will not expect anything in return, this is just something personal that I like to do each year, as for me, giving is much better than getting. Merry Christmas!

If your friend was under the impression that coworkers were not exchanging and feels the need to acknowledge the season with gift giving there are several options. One, she could give a Christmas card with a few home baked cookies, or if she is crafty, there are some cute ways to make angel ornaments with ribbon and the x style paperclips, or she could bring in a cake with a card from her to her co workers expressing her pleasure in working with great people. I have found some great, neat gifts at the dollar store that have been well received. It is not the size of the gift but the thought behind it. If nothing else, she should acknowledge their thoughtfulness with a personal note.

How about thank-you cards? I think that Emily Post would say that one should never feel obligated to give a gift.

She can just get them cards to say thanks. Nothing expensive. My mom is getting her co workers gift cards to walmart for 10 dollars. Well she is their boss but it doesn't matter.
