For example:I can take a dog in a room an have him/her learn how to play dead in half an hour or less, sit in 10 mins etc.. My dog knows every trick in the book plus some I think I invented myself. Every dog I've come across, (even my sister's old dog {world's stupiest mutt}) managed to learn very fast. Its like a gift I guess. But I have no college under my belt at all. I have no idea what to charge, if people would even call, that is. Any suggestions?,(Besides college, I will go, but not for that profession)

No petsmart within a 100 mile radius, if you know what I mean. But my dog knows every trick in the book plus some I think I invented myself. Most 'degrees' and certifications are a joke among serious dog trainers anyway. Years of experience with many different breeds are what matters.

There is alot of difference between teaching your dog tricks and teaching a dog with serious problems, to behave. Start by working your dog at a school, and with a trainer, that you respect. Get some obedience titles on your dogs. Eventually, if you are good, they will ask you to teach, although be aware that many schools pay their trainers little or nothing. When you develop a following and are knowledgable, then you can advertise your services.

Remember that if you charge too much, many people may not be able to afford it, even though they may desperately need help. I get paid for most of my teaching, but I will also do it for little or nothing if I know the people have no money.

And DON'T go to Petsmart or Petco, their trainers know little or nothing about training and have no business trying to teach anyone anything about it.

Most people hiring a trainer or looking for classes are not going to be interested in tricks, they usually want to learn how to control their dog.

People with a natural gift for working with dogs are rare, I have seen very few. But when I do see it, I have tried to get them involved. There are too many people who are lousy at it, masquerading as trainers already, so to see a natural come into a beginner class is exciting.

Call around to other trainers and find out the going rate and charge slightly less than that.

Dog training is not taught in college; it's pretty much an on the job experience kind of thing

Create a web site or an ebook like I have explaining your process. It is a very popular subject and people yearn for information. eBooks are very easy to create and you can sell your information or give it away like I do for promotional information on the website you create.

go to pet smart they offer classes in doggie training and ask them if they need anyone or how much they charge people per class.
