can someone tell me why my lovebirds mate all the time, but never lay eggs?

Are you sure they are a male female pair? Two males can go through the mating ritual and one will take the role of the female.
If you are sure it is a male and a female, do you have a suitable nesting site? Is there something that could make them think it is unsuitable to lay eggs right now (lots of noise, not enough daylight, etc). Usually, if they are a male/female pair, the female will lay eggs though, so I would probably go with my first hypothesis. Once a female gets into the mating ritual- she wants eggs. I have never heard of this, but is it possible for female birds to be sterile and unable to form eggs???
Also avian females, if there is a male present, will not mate for fun.

Could be that you have two males/females. I have raised Lovebirds and many of them. Make sure you have a mated up pair. Same sex birds will act like their mating, but can not. Also it might be that you have not got the right nestboxes. You need to have the nestbox that is designed for Lovebirds. If you don't have a good nest, the hen will not lay. If you have a mated up pair, they will lay eggs even on the floor. I think you have birds trying to mate and either you have two hens or two males.

lucky you I have a lovebird that has eggs but no dad for them. In the past two years she has had 5 clutches of 4 to 5 eggs. I got her a male and she killed it.

You likely have 2 males if you haven't seen any eggs at this point If you had a female at all, there would have been eggs by now. Don't promote breeding unless you have suitable homes for the babies.

Have you given them a nest inside their cage? If not, then the reason's simple. They're not laying eggs cause they have nowhere to put them. (In the wild birds can gather materials and make their own nests, but in captivity they don't have those materials available.)

Are you sure you have a boy and a girl? Maybe you have two of the same sex and they are having all the fun without the consequences
