It depends on the charge. If it's prison, then it normally means a serious charge has been brought against the person. If any sort of felony was committed by the enlistee, that person is automatically rejected for enlistment/commission into any branch of the military. When you go through initial processing now, you have to get your finger prints sent to the FBI database to check if you have any crimes or warrants for your arrest. If it comes up positive, you are rejected. So the answer is no. Don't let that guy who answered before me slap some political bull onto it, the military is a very-selective service and only choses people mentally and morally fit for enlistment. Hope this helped!

Normally that would be a big NO but with all thats going on in the world, recruiters tend to "lie" to get anyone into the military. I've seen it happen and the only reason anyone finds out is because the person decided to spill the beans once they were in training. There is no waiver for any criminal convictions but if your recruiter hides it well then your in.

Getting a waiver for a felony conviction would require that a general be willing to put his reputation on the line for you. You would have to be really special (such as have a college degree and speak several languages) before they will even consider you.

as ageneral rule no but now days all you cando is check it out depending on the crime you might still be able to get in under a wavier
