I had a date during my prom. Most girls feel that they must bring a date because it's what we're expected to do. But if you think you'll have more fun on your own, why not. Who cares what they think?

Sweetheart, go alone. It will be more fun and who knows who might pick you up at the dance. Besides, if you go with some boy, then you have the huge pressure of putting out after the date. Unless you are like the future golddigers whom take guys out with the impression of putting out but actually never do, then go by yourself cupckes. Trust me, the actual prom is the dullest part of your evening, the real fun starts with the afterparty. There you can drink and smoke what ever your taste, this is where you want to be pumkin.

My prom date was one of the most popular and hottest girls in school. Cheer leader, honor society, Winter Carnival Queen and eventually my wife for the past 34 years.

I didn't even get to go to my prom but if I could have, I definitely would have brought a date. I think it's a very intimate occasion and I'd want someone special to share it with.
But that's just me, I'm too into the whole relationship thing.

I'm a senior, and I went to my junior prom with a group of friends. It was a blast. I am sure it will be fun either way.

You do not have to have a date if you want to go alone then do it! You seem secure in your self that you don't need a "date" to validate you, be safe and have a good time.

I didn't go because I didn't have a date. I so wish I had gone but was too hung up on not going because of the date issue. Go. Have a great time. :)

you don't HAVE to have a date, but it is nice especially on the slow songs. you dont want to be sitting alone at your table while your friends are out dancing with their dates.
