I would assume you've talked to your son about the difference between real life and fantasy. The lesson you should be teaching your son is to treat people with respect, regardless of gender. I agree with the poster who said the child will see the good guy defeating the bad "guy" (good versus evil).

First off, no one should be allowed to hit anyone male or female. I have 2 daughters and they know better than hitting unless it's in self defense. The power rangers thing is just a good fighting bad thing. It isn't some situation of a man just beating up a woman for the heck of it. I however am one of the few women that believe if a woman is going to hit a man like she's a man, she deserves to be hit back by that man. I know a lot of people disagree with that statement but it's like this, if a woman is going to go on a hitting spree, just beating up a man, why should he have to take it? and don't say because he is stronger because that's a whole diff. debate. women fought too hard to be "equal" to now all of a sudden bring in the issue of the weaker sex.

Just explain to your son that the only reason it's ok is because that woman was the bad guy and leave it at that. Most little kids don't look at things like that the way we adults do anyway. We are the ones that ruin this stuff for kids. Everything has to have some moral story behind it. It isn't like that. It's supposed to just be a kids chance to be silly and just watch a little tv. Ya know be lazy :)

You're worried about Power Rangers? Have you seen WWE? I bet you let him watch that with you. Although I hope not. I have two older brothers, my dad threatened their lives if they hit me, do you think that stopped them? Uhhh Noooo. But it did make me a stronger woman and I do not take crap from no one today. I married an abuser about 15 years ago and the first time that pig hit me, I kicked the crap outta him and left. My brothers gave me that. I now have three kids, boy 12, boy 6, girl 2. I tell them they should respect each other as well as others, and the difference between defence and offence. Just teach him right from wrong and talk about good abd bad behavior, they do get it. I have very good kids. Communication is a major key. Happy Holidays.

you notice females hit boys all of the time and however the lads do no longer look to do lots approximately it. Then the females think of they are no longer basic nuts. What they do no longer understand is that if a guy replaced into to hit a woman in retaliation then the lady won't in no way be comin out of that coma. the guy knows this this yet won't say for worry that the lady will antagonise him much extra.

I wouldn't really worry. While adults may see a female character, little kids look past the gender issue and just see the power ranger being good guys and defeating the bad guys. They've done it in every episode. I'm sure he won't care if its a girl or not. j\Just as long as he sees the good guys win, that's all that matters to him.

What you have to explain to him is, not everything on TV is real and some of the things are not acceptable out side TV and hitting girls or boys is one of them.Proud Mom of three boys.

I think it's a double standard! I am a female and I was raised to defend myself if necessary. If a girl hits a boy then he should protect himself. We ladies can't have our cake and eat it too. It's not fair!

I've always thought that if a woman puts herself in a man's place and hits a man, then it's fair game.
A man should not hit a woman first, but what man is gonna sit quietly if a woman is beating the crap out of him??

no way I told my boys anyone boy or girl lays a hand on you you have the right to defend yourself. and my older son did just that when a girl at the bus stop kept taughting him and one day she went to push him and he laid her out on the ground and of course she looked in my direction and started to cry I just ignored her because she deserved it for bothering him every single day.
