So Mommy and Daddy lied to you when you were little that there was a Santa Clause? And now that you are older and see that there is really no fat man dressed in a red suit who delivers toys to all the good little boys and girls, you assume there is no God either? This is why I do not lie to my children. If I lie to them about Santa then why would they think that I wouldn't lie to them about God. I teach my children the truth. There is no Santa, Christmas is a Pagan Holiday,(which is why we don't celebrate it) And God is very much alive and loves us. I really do hope that you find the truth and at the end of that truth, God will be there.

Actually, what you mentioned is the reason that we did not teach our kids to believe in Santa Claus. Why on Earth would any sane parent tell their children to believe in something that they knew wasn't true just because it is 'cute'? Yes, we did celebrate Christmas ( tree, cookies, presents, etc) but the gifts came from family & friends , not from a mythical being.
On the other hand, we did teach our kids to have faith in God & Jesus Christ because we KNEW God is true! We had experienced the great change that happened to us when we invited Jesus Christ into our lives. We saw Him work in our lives and in the lives of our friends from church. Even members of our families that feel like religion is for naive people saw the difference in us and in the way the people from church act. They saw it as a possitive thing, a strange thing that they had not seen anywhere else. Why did we act like this ? Because we had come in contact with a real & true God and we wished to please Him.
We worried that if we told our kids to believe in an all-knowing Santa who loves little children and judges their deeds, and then the kids found out we lied, they would also figure we lied about an all-knowing God, who loves His people, & judges their deeds. They would think that God, like Santa, was just a trick played on their innocence by adults; something that you grow out of.
"Rediculous" stories? I guess both are pretty wild and unbelieveable when you think about it. However, one is mythical & one, while fantastic, is true.
I hope that you meet the true God in this life. It makes for a pretty exciting life . Way better than believing in Santa!!

Santa is derived from a "red man" from a pagan religion who would go around giving out presents on Yule.
Ironically, Satan, spelled pretty much the same, is also depicted as a "red man."

Well, the atheists needed a substitute "god" to allow them to celebrate something at Christmas. They perverted the real Nicholas of Myra, and he became Santa Claus, a running together of the words "Saint Nicholas."
In order to make the kids behave, this "god" had to have "powers," hence the whole "seeing you while sleeping" thing, etc.

Santa is the other guy in the red suit.
Jesus is the Son of God. The very one that is going to pass judgment soon.
