My pastor talked about being "on call" with God. Our lives, schedules, choices, etc. are not ours but God's. When He tells us to do something, we should do it, regardless of what our own plans might have been.

Good timing for this message, as I have been reading a book that has challenged me to pay attention and be ready for God to call me to do something.

I'm not sure that I've done the best possible job of applying these lessons, but I'm trying to be more attentive and praying that God will show me what He is doing and how I can join in His work.
