Any advice on how to overcome envy?

I have been feeling jealous and envious of this woman I know. I for some reason find myself comparing my life to hers and end up feeling inferior. I've prayed about it but I keep thinking about her in a jealous way, what seems like all the time! I think her relationship is better than mine, her house is nicer, her job is better, she's prettier/skinnier, etc.

What does the bible say about envy (I know it's a sin) and how to overcome it??

I appreciate your honesty and thank you for posting in life there is always going to be someone smarter, prettier and more material things than you have envy rots the bones. The best thing to overcome envy is to pray to the Lord each day about it and give your envy over to him. You don't know what is going on in the inside of this woman. Never compare your insides with someone Else's outsides. Be in prayer look in your Bible about verses on envy as well to help you overcome.

I am highly favored on my job and well liked and I give glory to God but due to life I had a nervous breakdown at 16 and had many failures and I am not able to have children and I use d to be green with envy when everyone around me started to get pregnant and I felt left out. I rejoice now when I hear ladies becoming pregnant and I am a great aunt and spiritual mommy to those that surround me and yes I do know how you feel.

But know that God loves you and has a plan for your life

The way to quit feeling envy is to stop feeling envy. just quit it. Don;t think about her, her life, her things, etc. Work on accepting who you are, or improving yourself to your own goals.

She is not your yardstick.
