First when you ask her, get her alone away from her friends where it will take away peer pressure and awkwardness should she be undecided or finds it unexpected. Chances are she is expecting some sought of overture on your part, so if you are interested express it to her. Explain to her what you find interesting or intriguing about her. Be yourself and you will come across more naturally. Leave it open as to where to go, but have at least three different options to choose from to show you gave some forethought to taking her out in the first place. Give her a graceful out by interjecting something like, "unless you have a boyfriend or aren't ready to get into a relationship right now." A casual approach will be less intimidating and remember, girls and women talk and are often connected in wide ranging communications with many other females, so your reputation will eventually proceed you

hey, just went through this myself so i get that it is so hard and nerve wracking but you feel ten times better if you do it and girls like guys that have no fear to just come up and ask!!!
Paul: Hey [girls name], how are you?
Girl: Im good [or bad]. You?
Paul: Im alright. I have a question though. If you dont mind me asking, would you like to go out sometime? Like to the movies? the thing is...i really like you and i would really love if you could come out with me sometime.

thats lame, just ask her to go to a concert or something, dont make it a big deal, just say, hey judy, got these concert tickets for sat want to come. Or like say hey Judy I havent seen the new movie the HOLIDAY, wanna go?
