I was dwelling on this a long time ago and kind of realized that a nipple piercing might interfere with a woman's brestfeeding.

True or not?

I'm not interested in getting one, but that's what I was wondering about medically.

I had my nipples pierced and I talked to many people about this-including my doctor. He said as long as it was done properly, it should not be a problem, but they should be removed prior to feeding baby because if it comes out it could become a choking risk. ALSO-he said that sometimes, even the best of piercings go wrong, so there is always a chance that you will not be able to. I had to remove my piercing after a year, because they were still not healed-my body just didn't like them.

As long as the piercing is done right, and doesn't sever too many milk ducts, then it's usually okay. So if you really want to, go ahead, you shouldn't have any problems.

I just don't think it would be a good idea to have a baby sucking on it because of the choking hazard, so you may have to remove it every time...therefore it may become a hassle. So give it some thought and maybe ask your doctor first.

NOPE!! I have both of mine pierced, and as long as I took them out before I nursed, it was completely normal, except I believe that the milk flow was a little bit heavier because of the extra holes. I never had a problem. I tell all of my clients that there is no significant problems with nipple piercings and breast feeding.

Good luck!

Depends, on where exactly they peirce your nipple at if it is not right through the center but on the side a little you may not have a problem, however I doubt it, You see because of the scar tissue it blocks the passage for the milk to pass through. besides you would have to take them out to breast feed anyways , don't want the child sucking on one of those. however I do have mine done and it increased my sensitivity by like 95%.

You have a lot of ducts in that area, so in general you'll be okay. However, scarring is inevitable and depending on how badly you scar, you may want to just do one nipple.

oh,oh i could never imagine getting one i think it ugly, i guess it would, but it will strech, just like a belly ring would. your preducting milk and trust me they will grow and grow and they will hurt and feel like there gonna explode, i would imagine so, it would interfer with breastfeeding, unless you take it out befor hand, like on the first trimester.
you dont need to dwell on it unless your gonna get it done.

It is true, my friends doctor recommended she take hers out, which she was anyway, and it makes sense...I don't think a baby would like to nurse on a barbell ya know? haha.
