HD - Ready means you have to ADD a HD tuner, whether it be a HD reciever or HD satellite or HD cable box
This is best for Satellite or Cable subscribers

HD -ATSC is the HD box installed into your TV....NOTE the ATSC!
If it's labeled as a DIGITAL tuner...it'll get your local stations but display them as Digital Low Definition, not HD.

Both of these are great for your LOCAL TV stations. But ATSC is better.

The HD build in already has the HD converter. Most cable providers (in the US) use different HD converters. If you are shopping for a tv get one without the converter.
