Oh no! They are really evry small dogs. They are toy dogs afterall and so they really don't get very big at all. The biggest I've heard of any of them getting is about 16-20 pounds and that is with the extremely heavy ones. My own shih tzu has never weighed more than 9 or 10 pounds, but on average weighs about 8 pounds and she has weighed that most of her adult life.

They stay small. I actually have a just about 4 year previous male Shih Tzu and he weighs approximately 10 pounds. he's a splash smaller than maximum nonetheless. My buddy has on and he weighs 3 or 4 pounds better than my Murphy.

They do not grow big at all.
Is this even a serious question?
They are small-medium size depending on the sex of the dog.
Also, shihtzu's are really active...they don't just lounge around and be good doggies.
