A time will come when they will have to choose. Hopefully they will choose God. It is the only way to eternal life.

I am not a "believer." I believe in no God, no Messiah, no anything like that. However, I do not exploit Christianity. I do not say all people who are Christian are bad people.

I do not consider myself a bad person.

I think this is a very closed-minded question. Questions like this are part of the reason I left the Christian Church to start with. You are generalizing all non-believers as bad people.

Just because I don't believe in what you believe in, you can't go off assuming things about me. That does not make you a good Christian. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." I am also human and also living on this planet you live on, so please don't tell me I am not considered your neighbor.

I could recite the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer by heart, if I wanted to, but I won't. Why? Because I am not a Christian. I don't think I am on a lower level than you because of this.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

You are right to some extent. However, those who claim to be Christians on YA don-t all seem to be trying to do good. Many seem to be simply trying to win arguments, or score points against non-Christians. Not at all the spiriit of Christ, is it?
So I blush a bit when you say "christians try to do good according to their beliefs".
Even outside of YA - in "real life" - what you say certainly should be the case, and very often is, but unfortunately, not always.

Doesnt your bible teach you to take the plank out of your own eye before messing with your neighbors? I guess christians cant follow thier own book.

I think you are an arrogant close minded person that believes because the majority does, when the majority jumps off a cliff i hope you go with them.

Well I'm in your camp Bro!
I used to be one of them. I used to hang out on IRC on Dalnet entertaining myself by mocking GOD and Jesus and especially Christians. Over time I came face to face with Jesus so there is hope for them. There is always hope.
The world and the media teach them to be self centered and self righteous so they can be manipulated into buying their goods and services. You know how to tell the nonconformist? They all look, talk, and act exactly alike.
I love them though. They are me without Jesus.

May the Lord richly bless you.

you talk like those you seem to insult. human understanding of existence takes many forms. unfortunately, many people are little more than monkies scratching in the dirt, figuratively speaking. all i can do is live my life the best way i can and let that be my final statement on the nature of my reality.

Satan is the Master of Lies and Deceit. His greatest lie is to convince people that he does not exist. He also motivates the non-believers to push the lie on the believers. Thats why you see so many Atheists here in the Religious/Spirituality section. It also explains why so many of them are vile in their posts.

I am not a believer. I never try to influence anyone's thinking. You believe what you want, I'll think what I want.
The only time I ever comment on Christians is when I see them using their "Good book" to talk crap about me! (And they do!)
