I mean, it looks so ugly and unattractive.
Why do we have it in the first place if we are just gonna shave it off?

Well, we are primates, and mammals, it's an artifact from our evolution from the great apes. Also, since we are mammals we are going to have hair, whether it is very fine and almost invisble to thick coarse hair. All mammals have hair, from aardvarks to whales, manatees and dolphins. Hair is there to help keep us warm, but it is kind of pointless if you live in hot places. Just wax, shave or lase. Sorry.

Well, it could very possibly be because it was originally intended to help keep people warm as well as protect the skin. The parts of our bodies aren't designed for beauty, they're designed for purpose. I always thought noses were ugly and unnecessary since half the population's just going to get surgery on them anyway when I was younger but I knew they still had a purpose.

Besides, there's nothing unattractive about hair. People obsess (positively) over the stuff on your head, why not on your legs? The most ridiculous thing I ever heard was someone saying he wouldn't go out with a girl who didn't shave/wax the hair on her arm.

All hair has a purpose first the hair on your legs are for sensory information, feelers so to speak. The hair under your arms and else where is for prevention of chafing in those areas. The hair on your head keeps your brain warm or cool just like on an animal. It was not until the razor was developed that shaving for women became common place. Not that I mind a women shaving.

Incidental mankind is NOT related to apes except some people tend to act and be as stupid and ignorant on the truth.

Same reason we have hair all over. It's a natural way to keep us warm-when we get cold, we get goosebumps, where our hair stands up. Little pockets of warm air are produced and are a little blanket. It's from back when we didn't have central heating or lots of blankets. People from warmer climates (think native South Americans) don't have as much as people from colder ones. Our bodies don't know we're gonna shave it off until we do.

Sucks, seems a waste of good body energy to grow hair we deem unnecessary.
However, I live in the Midwest and have convinced my husband it is my winter insulation and keep shaving to minimum most of the year......LOL
Merry Christmas

i think the purpose is to keep our legs warm. why do we have armpit hair we just shave that too. i don't think it was intended to be shaven off but we do because it is more attractive.
