The time to be scared and ask this question was before you made the appointment or paid the salon. Now you're commited. You're a big girl, you'll live. Honest.
Now listen to that aesthetician, hon. Numb the area before they start. Use the cream he recommended (although I'd personally go for absolute numb, like using Anbesol or Chloraseptic or something - ask the pharmacy what that cream does, and if they have anything that's stronger). I'd also make it 3 aspirin half an hour before, it will hurt. Helps if you have a prescription painkiller like tylenol with codeine or percocet lying around that you can take when you get home. Someone I knew used to save a few RX pills for whenever she got waxed. She used ice on it afterwards, too. (The only part of the whole waxing thing that I really understood was taking the percocet for pain, but she was legitimately a masochist, and I'm not.)
The more you obsess on this, the worse it will be for you. Do yourself a favor and go to the Health Food store and ask them for under the tongue herbal drops that will calm you down. Much safer than a prescription, and they DO work. Tell the salesperson what is being done, when you should use them, and how often you can. I suspect that you may need them now. Just have it done and don't worry, you'll be fine.

Speaking from an aesthetician's point of view, yes it will hurt. But only for a moment. There are things you can do to keep the pain to a minimum. Taking a couple of Advils an hour before will take the edge off. Also, when you go in, make sure you hair is not too long. We need at least a quarter inch of growth to work with, but trim with scissors beforehand if you have more than half an inch. There is an OTC numbing cream called EMLA cream that you can get at the drug store. Apply in a thick layer an hour before your waxing appointment. Won't completely numb you, but it helps. As for after-care, if the area is red and bumpy, use whole milk, sponged on that area, to help cool inflammation and prevent ingrowns.
Good luck, and trust me: the anticipation is worst than the waxing by far!

Yes!!! ive had mine done a few times and it hurts like crazy, but luckily, the pain only lasts for a few seconds after each strip, and a waxed bikini line looks about a thousand times better than a shaved one.
the best way to deal with the pain is to take an aspirin about an hour before, and dont have it done while youre on your period, becasue the skin will be more sensitive.
its much better to have it done at a salon like youre doing because they know what theyre doing. ive tried both at a salon and a home kit and the salon is much less painful, because the person is better able to hold your skin taught, and can pull quicker.

It depends, on your threshold. Even though you're not good with pain, some people can tolerate pain in certain areas better than other areas.
Personally, it wasn't too bad, just brace yourself. Professionals are very fast, it only takes a second to pull off the wax, and they press down on the area right after to reduce and pain.
You can ask your doctor about some ointment that will numb the area a little so it won't feel as bad if you're very concerned.

Yes, it will hurt but it's just a bit of stinging, don't be so scared. Whether or not you can wear underwear/bikini bottoms depends on how much hair you're having removed. Take two ibuprofen about a half hour before you go to help with the pain.

It is more of a shock than terrible pain. It does hurt, but that usually fades after a few minutes. I think it is a lot like ripping off a bandage/bandaid. You might have a little bit of marking but that will fade fairly quickly. Holding your breath may help a little bit. Don't worry....it's not that bad. Personally, I love the results so much better than any other method.
Beware....Brazillian waxes really hurt! Regular bikini wax not so bad.
Good luck! Be brave!

Waxing is a robust thank you to do away with undesirable hair. Waxing has some discomfort in contact no rely if the area is "delicate" or no longer. it is going to harm slightly, however the discomfort is far properly actual worth the convenience :) stable success

Just remember how great you will look afterwards and that the result will last longer than the actual waxing. Take some sort of Avil/ Asprin and remember to breathe...

That depends on how low your threshold of pain is... I have multiple piercings and I found the ouch factor pretty high. Just bite on the shirt collar when she lets it rip. There may be blood. Aftercare keyword: moisturise, moiturise, moisturise.
